International Creative ON-LINE Competition

For Individuals

The COMPETITION will consist of three sessions conducted in a one year period: Feb.  Jun.   Oct.

  1. Images can be received only during Feb.  They will be judged in Mar.
  2. Images can be received only during Jun.   They will be judged in Jul.
  3. Images can be received only during Oct.   They will be judged in Nov.

 

Each Entrant can enter Four Images in each session.

ENTRY RULES:

 

  1. CONDITIONS OF ENTRY:

The individual competition is open to all PSA members.  The entrant must be the full owner of all rights of the submitted works.  Entry is not limited to images created and or modified digitally.  Images may also be acquired and/or modified traditionally and then scanned.  The images must be submitted as Electronic Files by Email.

By virtue of submitting an entry, the entrant certifies the work as his or her own and permits the PSA Organization to reproduce all or part of the entered material free of charge for displaying on the Internet.

 

  1. ENTRY FORM:

The Entry Form will be available on the website:   http://www.photographybuynick.com

 

The following information will be required:

Name, Address, PSA membership number, email address, image filenames, and image titles.

The image filenames on the Entry Form MUST MATCH the actual image filenames.

Instructions for filling out the Entry Form are included on the website.  The Entry Form must be filled out on the website and sent by using the “Submit” button at the bottom of the Entry Form.  Your images must be sent in a separate Email.  A Status List of all entries received will be published on the website.  Members can check to see if their images have been received in good order.  The Status List will be updated at least weekly and will be posted until the judging takes place.

 

  1. ENTRY IMAGE FILES:

The images must be sent separately from the Entry Form.  The images must be in jpg format.  A maximum of 4 images may be submitted per each entrant.  The images must be sent on-line by Email.  They can be sent one at a time or in groups of four, depending on your Internet Service Provider and Modem Speed.  Your Email should include a message stating how many images are attached and should include your full name.

  1. IMAGE FILE NAMING CONVENTION:

The image filename shall use the following convention:

 

surname-x-####-yz.jpg

 

Where surname is your Family name

x is the first initial of your Given name

#### is the last four digits of your phone number

y is the Section letter (A,B)        We will use Section A in this competition.

z is the image number (1,2,3,4)

 

This naming convention is necessary to assure that files from different makers will have unique names.

Example:

These four images were submitted by John Smith in section-A, phone number 784-1234

 

Smith-j-1234-A1.jpg    smith-j-1234-A2.jpg   smith-j-1234-A3.jpg    smith-j-1234-A4.jpg

The image filenames MUST MATCH the filenames on the Entry Form.

A separate line is provided on the Entry Form for the titles.  Do not use titles for filename.

 

 

  1. ENTRY FILE DIMENSIONS AND SIZE:

The required maximum horizontal dimension is 1024 pixels and maximum vertical dimension is 768 pixels.  Smaller images are acceptable

The maximum file size is 300kb.  (After compression to jpg format).

 

  1. JUDGING:

Judging will be done by projecting images on a screen with an Electronic Projector at a resolution of 1024 X 768 set to 16.7 million colors.  In each session the entrants four images will be distributed throughout four rounds of judging.

Three judges will be used with a score from each judge ranging from 2 to 9.  Each image will have a minimum score of 6, maximum score 27.

 

7.       ENTRY FEE:

FEE will be accepted by Cash, 5 USD; or Checks, Checks must be in U.S. funds on a U.S. Bank.  Checks shall me made out to PSA.  One FEE covers the cost for all Three Sessions.

 

  1. AWARDS:

Best-Of-Show will receive a Medal and along with the Honorable Mentions will have their images posted on the Internet for a period of 60 days.  A special award will be given to the entrant that accumulates the most points for the three sessions.
